Welcome to Chez Soleil

Chez Soleil is based on the notion that the sharing of a meal is the best way to celebrate life. As celebration is a necessary ingredient in life, learning more about food,cooking and nutrition encourages daily celebrations. We also hope to develop confidence in our students
so they may tap into their inherent creativity.

Liz Mountain is a graduate of George Brown College and the University
of Toronto. Liz has worked in numerous kitchens (including The Windsor Arm's Hotel and The Church Restaurant) in Stratford, Toronto and
Antigua. Never satisfied with the status quo, Liz likes to challenge her own understanding of the application of heat to food, and the notion that what we eat now is what we have always eaten. Interests in one of the oldest human cultural activities spurs both Janet and Liz on in areas of research and writing, as well as recipe development and rediscovery of historical recipes.

Janet Sinclair combines her background in professional interior design
with her training from the Stratford Chefs School to teach restaurant
design to budding chefs at the Chefs School. Janet is the menu creator, photographer and foodstylist, as well as kitchen design teacher.

It must be emphasized that both Janet and Liz love to cook, and love to share a meal. The humour of both women create a business where laughter is a key ingredient. As trained chefs, Janet and Liz feel that their training is best suited when shared with those who would like to learn professional secrets in an informal setting. It is their desire to spread the joy of hospitality, whether it is shared with family or with friends.
